Rev. Katy L. DoyleRev. Katy L. Doyle
Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministries

Katy Doyle was born and raised in the metro-Detroit area.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish from the University of Michigan.  After graduating from the U of M, Katy spent the summer in Rome and Naples, Italy with the Summer Service Team of the New Wilmington Missionary Conference, engaged in mission work. This experience deepened her passion for outreach work, as well as her understanding of Christ’s call to serve others.

After arriving home from Italy, Katy entered Princeton Theological Seminary, where she earned a Masters of Divinity. While in seminary, Katy was a student intern at West End Presbyterian Church in New York City and completed Clinical Pastoral Education at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She also participated in many seminary student groups and was the clerk of the Student Government.

Upon graduating seminary, Katy spent a summer working at Camp Skyline in Almont, Michigan as the Summer Program Director; it was here that she grew in her desire to serve young people. So it was with great excitement that Katy answered the call to be the Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministries at Kirk in the Hills in the fall of 2003.

At the Kirk, Katy's responsibilities include overseeing and working with the Sunday school, the middle and high school youth groups, the young families, as well as acting as a liaison for organizations such as the Kirk’s weekday preschool and the Boy Scout troop. Katy is also active in the worship life of the Kirk, as well as pastoral care of the Kirk’s congregation.

Katy’s service to the larger church includes sitting on the Presbytery of Detroit’s Youth Ministry Council and the Princeton Theological Seminary Alumni/ae Executive Council. In the fall of 2008, Katy had the honor of preaching at the Princeton Theological Seminary Alumni/ae Reunion.

Katy can be reached at revkld@kirkinthehills.org, or by phone at (248) 626-2515, ext. 122.
