Middle School (Mid-High) Mission & Outreach Opportunities
The Pittsburgh Project (Summer Mission Trip):
July 12-16, 2010
The Mid-High Mission Trip to the Pittsburgh Project is an amazing opportunity for our middle school students. Each day of the mission trip includes worship, fellowship, free
time and, of course, time spent working in the community. No special skills are needed - just an open and willing heart. The homeowners that we assist are always touched by the caring attitudes of our young people, and grateful for their assistance throughout the week.
The cost for the trip is $275. Permission/commitment forms and payments are due by March 1.

Below is one youth's experience from the 2009 Mid-High mission trip:
This summer I went on the Mid High Mission Trip to the Pittsburgh Project. The Pittsburg Project was the coolest thing I’ve ever done to help people and worship God. I went on this mission trip with our Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministries, one of our youth leaders, and my dad. I also went with several of my friends from our Mid-High Youth Group. At the project we sang songs, prayed and worked for Mr. Wagner, our homeowner.
At Mr. Wagner’s home, there is a narrow path between the front and back yard, and since the path was made of dirt we poured cement on it to make it easier to walk on. We also patched his concrete stairs and replaced a leaky pipe. On this trip, we learned so much about Mr. Wagner, like his wife grew up in the house he still lives in, which is on a REALLY steep street, and that his breakfast is powdered sugar donut holes, which he calls “yellow cake.” He was very giving. He would give us these popcorn balls that tasted so good.
Now that I went on this mission trip I do so much more for God and Jesus. I always read my Bible and pray. Also, in the morning I do devotions, which are questions about your week, God and Jesus. This camp really opened my eyes to God and Jesus Christ and I recommend it to all tweens and teens.
