Justice Maura CorriganAll women are invited to join us for
a very special evening!  The keynote
speaker,
Maura Corrigan (Supreme Court Justice for the State of Michigan)
will address the topic of Foster Care.  What a
wonderful opportunity for us to come together to support foster care, an issue that we know can be addressed "better together."  (For more information about the Kirk's Foster Care Ministry, click here.)

Justice Maura Corrigan was first elected to the Michigan Supreme Court
in
1998 and reelected in 2006.  She served two terms as Chief Justice
from
2001-2004. In practice, she was an assistant prosecuting attorney
in Wayne County, Michigan from 1974 to 1979. In 1979, she became Chief of Appeals in the United States Attorney’s Office in Detroit. In 1986, she became the first woman to be Chief Assistant United States Attorney in Detroit. In 1989, she entered private practice as a partner in the firm of Plunkett & Cooney.  She was appointed to the Michigan Court of Appeals in 1992 and became its Chief Judge in 1997.  Corrigan graduated magna cum laude from Marygrove College in Detroit in 1969 and cum laude from the University of Detroit Law School in 1973.
