Rev. Rami Almaqdasi brings a powerful testimony of faith, perseverance, and hope to his ministry. Born and raised in Basra, Iraq, he accepted Christ at an early age and discerned God's call to pastoral ministry while growing up amid war and displacement. He earned his theological education at Theological Seminary in Cairo, Egypt, and has faithfully served congregations and refugee communities throughout Iraq, Syria, and the Middle East, offering spiritual leadership during seasons of hardship, transition, and renewal.

After coming to the United States in 2014, Pastor Rami continued his ministry among immigrant and refugee communities while serving Presbyterian congregations in New York and Ohio. His pastoral ministry is rooted in a deep love for Scripture, compassionate care, and a passion for helping people encounter the transforming love of Jesus Christ. He has also served as a refugee counselor and remains deeply committed to sharing the hope of the Gospel across cultures and communities.
As Associate Pastor of Congregational Care & Evangelism at Kirk in the Hills, Pastor Rami is honored to walk alongside individuals and families through every season of life. He is passionate about fostering meaningful relationships, extending Christ's welcome to all, and helping people grow in faith and discipleship. In his spare time, Pastor Rami enjoys coffee, baklava, and spending time with family and friends.
