Rev. Matthew Means
Rev. Matthew Means brings more than 20 years of pastoral leadership to Kirk in the Hills, along with deep roots in Metro Detroit and the Presbyterian Church (USA). Raised in a family where faith and service were central, he discerned God's call to ministry while serving with Inner City Missions in Philadelphia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Michigan State University and a Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, where he also served as a hospital chaplain and supply pastor. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Louisville Seminary.
Prior to joining the Kirk, Pastor Matthew served congregations in Ohio, Michigan, and most recently as Pastor and Head of Staff of Old First Presbyterian Church in Huntington, New York. Throughout his ministry, he has been committed to spiritual formation, congregational vitality, and equipping others for faithful service. He has also served in numerous leadership roles within the Presbyterian Church (USA), including the Presbytery of Detroit and the Presbytery of Long Island.
Pastor Matthew and his family are grateful to return to Michigan and are excited to join the Kirk in the Hills community. He looks forward to walking alongside others as they deepen their faith, discover their gifts, and grow together in Christ.
