Stewardship 2026 at the Kirk
Stewardship is the Biblical term for how we manage our resources of time, talent, and treasure, and the ways these bear witness to the Beloved Community God is forming—The Church. Sunday, October 19, 2025, marked the start of our Stewardship Season, when we share our gratitude for all God is doing in and through the Kirk. Stewardship is more than financial giving—it is how we live faithfully and use our time, talent, and treasure in response to God’s abundance. It is how we love, serve, and share together as the Body of Christ.
Our 2025 theme, “Full Sail Church: The Ships of Faith,” invites us to imagine the Kirk as a vessel of grace—guided by Christ, filled by the Spirit, and carried forward by the generosity and trust of its people. Each “ship” represents a vital part of our shared journey of faith:
October 19 – WORSHIP
Matthew 14:22–33 – “Jesus Calms the Storm”
October 26 – DISCIPLESHIP (Reformation Sunday)
Luke 5:1–11 – “Put Out into the Deep Water”
November 2 – FELLOWSHIP (All Saints’ Sunday)
Acts 2:42–47 – “They Devoted Themselves to Fellowship”
November 9 – CITIZENSHIP (Veterans’ Sunday)
Philippians 3:20 – “Our Citizenship Is in Heaven”
November 16 – STEWARDSHIP (Pledge & Special Offering Sunday)
2 Corinthians 9:6–8 – “God Loves a Cheerful Giver”
November 23 – LEADERSHIP (Anniversary & Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan Sunday)
Mark 10:42–45 – “The Son of Man Came Not to Be Served but to Serve”
Full Sail Church builds on the ancient image we have used for over a year: a sailboat. The sailboat, a symbol used to identify Early Church Christians, represented a rescue boat (like Noah’s Ark) and St. Peter’s Barque (the fishing boat where Jesus called the disciples). This year’s Stewardship Season is meant to help us “chart the course” through storms and choppy waters, and toward some exciting ways to be the church here and now, to the glory of God alone, in Christ alone, and by faith alone, in the power of the Holy Spirit. So welcome aboard—new friends and longtime members alike. Together, may we lift our sails high, trust the wind of the Spirit, and journey in faith toward the future God has prepared.
