Dr. Reed served as our Bridge Interim Senior Pastor and Head of Staff during 2024, guiding the Kirk during an important time of transition in pastoral leadership. We are pleased that Phil and his wife, Marguerite, have returned to Kirk in this new season of shared ministry and fellowship. An honorably retired minister in the Presbytery of Detroit, Phil brings over four decades of pastoral leadership across congregations in Minnesota, Kansas, Illinois, and Michigan. Phil and Marguerite now make their home between Michigan and Florida. Marguerite, a longtime member of the Kirk, has served on the Board of Deacons, and faithfully sang in the Kirk Choir for many years. Together, they delight in seeing children and grandchildren who live in Los Angeles; Vancouver, British Columbia; and Champaign, Illinois. They find joy in golf, sailing, the pleasures of good books and films, and entertaining family and friends. Phil is currently immersed in reading, research, and writing on Spirituality for Life’s Third Act, reflecting on God’s calling in retirement, the gift of time, and the sacred art of aging well.
