Rev. Rami Almaqdasi is a pastor whose ministry has been shaped by faith, perseverance, and a deep commitment to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Raised in a Christian family in Basra, Iraq, he accepted Christ at an early age and first sensed God’s call to ministry while serving in children’s and youth ministries.

A graduate of the Theological Seminary in Cairo, Egypt, Rev. Almaqdasi has served congregations and refugee communities across Iraq, Syria, and the United States, including ministry among Syrian refugees in Northern Iraq and pastoral leadership in Damascus, Syria. Since coming to the United States in 2014, he has continued serving immigrant, refugee, and Presbyterian communities in New York, Ohio, and Michigan.  He recently served as Stated Supply Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Pontiac, Michigan, where he preached, shepherded, and led the congregation in worship, discipleship, and community engagement.

Grounded in Scripture and sustained by Philippians 4:13, Rev. Almaqdasi brings compassion, hope, and a heart for reconciliation to his ministry. He also enjoys coffee and baklava.
