Last week was an exciting week for Accent Pontiac, launching outdoor music programming in Pontiac through a new partnership with Center for Success, resuming porch lessons, and adding two new teaching artists to the team! They are still in need of volunteers to provide meals for the last few weeks of the school year - sign up here!

Our Welcome Gathering for Pastor Edwin was a HUGE SUCCESS!! Pastor Edwin, his wife, Meredith, and daughter, Eva, received much love this past Friday evening. Everyone enjoyed the Mexican food truck, the live band and a special performance by Accent Pontiac!

On Sunday we were blessed with a sermon from Pastor Marjorie as she heads off into formal retirement. We will still see her from time to time - but are glad for all that she brought to the Kirk!

The Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, an internationally renowned festival of which the Kirk along with Temple Beth El and St Hugo of the Hills is a long-standing co-sponsor, inaugurated its 2021 season with its annual Gala and Auction this past Friday evening, this year via Zoom. Kirk member Kay Block (who volunteers in the Welcome Center Tuesday mornings) was the lead sponsor of the Gala. The Mothers’ Day Musical Moment, presented by Treble Boys’, the Senior and Intermediate Girls, Nicole Joseph, and violist Shanda Lowry-Sachs, is available here

Micha 6 is hosting a bike drive in the next month for those in the Pontiac community who do not have a bike. This weekend the youth group helped them prepare by assembling new bikes and fixed donated ones that needed some love!

Sarah Ford and her dad, Bill, and her children, Nell and Eli, were working on the garden on Saturday to get it ready for our amazing Garden Club! Garden Club is our summer Sunday school for our children, and we’re so excited that Sarah, Bill, and Pastor Kelsey’s husband, Mike, will be teaching our children all about God’s creation and how to care for it this summer! Please register your child(ren) for Garden Club (9 a.m. Sunday mornings) by clicking here.
