News And Updates

Monday Minute 6.8.21

June 07, 2021

Members of the Kirk gathered on Saturday morning to help repair a home in Pontiac, partnering with Rebuilding Together, in a neighborhood where the Kirk has over a 20-year legacy of building and repairing homes in witness to to Scripture,"...you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings." (Isaiah 58:12)

The Pontiac community gathered to see the EOY (end of year) Accent Pontiac concert where students showcased their learning and talents. Kirk members could be seen strewn across, lawn chairs in tow, and we may or may not have photographic evidence of some of their dancing, clapping, and shouting. What a wonderful gift for Kirk members to be a part of the community and we are thankful for your support of these students, their staff, and music in Pontiac .

Pastor Kelsey preached on "Our Father" to kick off our "Lord's Prayer" sermon series this Sunday. Come this Sunday at 8, 9 or 10 AM to hear Pastor Nate preach on "Heaven"...!

Treble Boy chorister Collin Graff sang the solo in “O Taste and See” during communion in the 10:00 service with the Chancel Choir. This solo incidentally was originally commissioned and first sung the first week in June 1953 for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. Great job, Collin! Watch here.

Our mission trip fundraiser was a huge success this week! Thank you to all of you who baked, donated, and made it happen. The group is really excited for their upcoming mission trip to Jonesville, VA.

Garden Club continues this summer, thanks to Mrs. Sarah, Mr. Mike and “Coach”! This Sunday, in addition to Garden Club, we’ll have soccer clinic right after the Garden Club!

FRONT PATIO UPDATE!

After almost a year and a half of behind the scenes meetings and conversations, the work on the front patio is in full swing! We had some delays once the work was started due to a few surprises unearthed when the original patio was demoed. There has also been extensive collaborative work done to finalize the remedial action to be taken to shore up the “vault” underneath the front patio. We are so excited to see the work progress and look forward to having coffee hour out front again soon!
