Fem Lavi Detroit - Stories of Impact

On Saturday, February 28th, Seeds to Sustainability, a Kirk Outreach and Missions partner doing amazing work in Haiti, will be hosting their 3rd Annual Fem Lavi - Stories of Impact event at Kirk in the Hills.

Fem Lavi translates to Farm of Life in the Haitian Creole language. It is one of the many agricultural programs for Seeds to Sustainability that is helping to empower families and communities by providing livestock and seeds to start local farms. These resources, along with on-the-ground education and support, are providing a path forward for so many that are struggling to survive in a country torn by political unrest and natural disasters.

Come meet Todd Henderson, Agricultural Program Manager for Seeds to Sustainability, along with members of his team that are doing the on-the-ground work in Haiti.  You will hear about their programs across Haiti, and the stories about the children, families and communities that these programs are lifting up. Todd has been traveling to Haiti for many years now.- and he and his team want to tell you about the powerful impact that these resources and training are having.  These are stories of transformation, love and hope for the future that you won't want to miss.

Seeds for Sustainability is the agricultural arm of Chances for Children, a US based non-profit that provides a wide array of programs to support children in Haiti.  Haiti has long been a Kirk outreach and mission focus for Kirk in the Hills. Starting with Bill Robinson and the Kirk's annual car show, the Kirk has provided support for children and families in Haiti.  The Seeds to Sustainability program has been a wonderful partner for the Kirk, providing a way for us to continue to "be the hands and feet of Jesus" in Haiti.  We are so grateful for their partnership, for all the Kirk members and friends who are helping support this program, and we look forward to the Fem Lavi event with thanks and praise.
