A Bach Birthday Celebration

Join us on March 14th at 3:00 p.m. in the Refectory at Kirk in the Hills as we celebrate the genius of Johann Sebastian Bach with a program featuring some of his most beloved masterpieces! The concert will benefit the Kirk’s Renew and Resound campaign, with a suggested donation of $15 (individuals) or $25 (families).
This special afternoon highlights the diverse beauty of Bach's work, from the sparkling Concerto for Harpsichord and Oboe d'amore in A major and the iconic "Air on the G String," to powerful vocal selections like the famous "Erbarme dich" (from the St. Matthew Passion) and moving arias from his Cantatas.
And, just for fun, the audience will be invited to sing along on several Bach chorale hymn-tunes!
The concert will feature a wonderful ensemble of beloved Kirk musicians, featuring Merideth Hite Estevez, oboe, Chantel Woodard, soprano, Jinho Park, baritone, James Biery, keyboard, and Marilyn Biery, director, with special guests Haixin Wu and Sonia Lee, violin, Jasper Zientek, viola and Ben Maxwell, cello, Jean Posekany bass, and Stephanie Shapiro, oboe and English horn.
