Registration is now open for Vacation Bible School (VBS)! All children ages four to grade 5 (having just completed grade 5) are invited to register for VBS at the Kirk. VBS take place from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 19 through Friday, June 23, at the Kirk. Children will engage in fun, ministry-focused learning where they will be “detectives” looking at the mysteries of the Bible, Jesus’ teachings, and faith. Children will discover clues, engage in music, and play games. Each participant should plan to bring two nut-free snacks and a nut-free lunch.
Children can register for just $25 and all adult volunteers attend for free.
Encourage your children to invite friends who may not attend Kirk! Download a VBS flyer to share!
Please contact Sarah Ford at email@example.com with any questions.
Theme & Schedule
Theme: On The Case
VBS kids will go on a 5-day journey as detectives when they dive into a few of Jesus’ parables. Teachers and youth volunteers will lead children through a curriculum that focuses on solving mysteries of faith and digging deeper into how to care for, serve, love ourselves, and love others.
Day 1: June 19
Spending Time with God is How We Grow
Mystery #1: How do we grow?
Bible Focus: Parable of the Sower; Luke 8:4-15
How can Jesus’ story about seeds and soil help us to solve today’s mystery: how do we grow?
Day 2: June 20
Using Our Gifts is How We Serve
Mystery #2: How can we serve?
Bible Focus: Parable of the Bags of Gold; Matthew 25: 14-29
Dig into Jesus’ story about bags of gold to solve the mystery of the day!
Day 3: June 21
Spending Time with Others is How We Care
Mystery #3: How do we care?
Bible Focus: Parable of the Good Samaritan; Luke 10: 25-37
Look into Jesus’ parable, a story that helps explain a lesson, about the good Samaritan to learn about how to care for others!
Day 4: June 22
Sharing Our Story is How We Love
Mystery #4: How do we love?
Bible Focus: Parable of the Lost Coin, Sheep, and Son; Luke 15:1-32
Will a sheep, a coin, and a son give us enough clues to solve the mystery?
Day 5: June 23
Closing out the Case
Showcase solved mysteries!
Games, fun, and a musical performance!
